It seems like yesterday that women were introduced into the job market, especially in engineering and related areas.
Currently, we live in a society with backward thinking, in which we create stereotypes regarding the type of person who should pursue a certain profession. You, who do engineering, try to remember the proportion of men and women in your classroom.
And you, who work in the field, laboratories, industry, construction site, how many women are in the exact sciences, more precisely in the engineering field? Similarly, how many of them occupy high positions, leadership positions?
Worse than that, the salaries paid to men and women in the same position are not the same. Even though women are more qualified. After all, do we live in a meritocracy or not?

Man vs. woman: The eternal war of the sexes.
Firstly, if I had the type of thinking that a woman’s place is not in engineering, in science, and should not occupy leadership positions, I would try to change that type of thinking.

If we want to compare men and women, I’m sorry, but men already lose out, because, biologically, women are much more developed than men.
Shall we start the game by analyzing some statements?
Women deal better with human relationships and men are more focused on calculations.
Correct! But…, let’s remember basic biology. Do you know what it is phenotype?
Well, this term defines the characteristics observable in an individual that in turn is influenced by genetics.

Despite this, the phenotype is also influenced by the environment we live in. In other words, we can become qualified to do anything, depending on the environment in which we live.
This statement comes from the greater amount of corpus callosum in the female brain. As a result, we have interference from the right side (emotional) on the left side (rational).
Women are intellectually inferior!
This crazy theory is maintained because women have smaller brains than men. And that’s true, tHowever, Einstein had a smaller brain than the average man and that didn’t stop him from being who he was. A genius.
Explain this now! Whales have much larger brains than men. Does this make them smarter? I could write the entire article about these characteristics, but that’s not the focus.

A great woman: Marie Curie
It is impossible to talk about the role of women in science and engineering without addressing this great woman. Everyone knows her and her contribution is undeniable.
She was the first woman to be awarded the Nobel Prize, the first, in physics, for discoveries in the field of radioactivity.

Furthermore, she was the first scientist to conquer TWO times the much-desired prize. The second was in the area of chemistry, for his contribution and discovery of two chemical elements, polonium, which was named in honor of the country in which he was born, and radium.
